Strengthening Transitioning Empowering Program (STEP)
Services are offered to primary and secondary victims of Driving Under the Influence crashes, all services are free of charge to the victims. Services are voluntary and responsive to the unique strengths and needs of victims, and are provided in the community and at the offices of L.U.K. Crisis Center, Inc. in Worcester and in Fitchburg.

The CMCA Program is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to work in Fitchburg, Leominster, and Gardner to bring about community-wide health changes in each of these communities. To find out more about this program visit L.U.K. Crisis Center, Inc.

Resources for Environmental Strategies:

Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol (CMCA) -A science-based strategy for community mobilization and change around alcohol policy and enforcement.

Social Norms -The National Social Norms Research Center is a good starting place for research about social norms; how to conduct a social norms media campaign, and how to apply social norms to a variety of topics.

Youth in Action -Youth in Action is a program that mobilizes youth to work on policy and enforcement issues in the community, including compliance checks and other strategies.

FACE -The mission of FACE is to provide the public with “truth and clarity on alcohol” issues and to offer suggestions for action that can be taken. Focus on policy and enforcement issues.


SAMHSA/CSAP:

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) -SAMHSA is an agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services. This site is great for statistics and data, tools and resources, funding and policy issues.

SAMHSA’s National Clearinghouse on Drug and Alcohol Information -Research, funding, new initiatives

List of Model Programs -SAMHSA defines a model program, as “well-implemented, well-evaluated programs, meaning they have been reviewed by the National Registry of Effective Programs (NREP) according to rigorous standards of research”.
